Created in 1978, it is a companion piece to “Mosaic Composition 2 . Nyilasi was exploring the textures, forms, patterns, balance, and dynamic movement which modern picture-sized mosaics can convey, using “materials at hand” and working spontaneously. Many circular shapes and swirls are seen. The picture is carefully planned with bright, overlapping colour fields. The glass and rock lay flat on the surface, creating a picture-like quality. This work of art is a matched set with TNYIL-103 “Mosaic Composition 2”(1978)
