A classic mosaic picture, this contains form, rhythm, and colour. Each little mosaic piece is called a "tessera". Here we see how tesserae have to be laid to create a flow of movement. Colours have to be built up chromatically.

Notice the amusing cartoon-like black figure which appears to be trundling along toward the left side of the frame.
