Description: Here we see the dramatic power of sharp sunlight breaking through an overcast sky onto a vast, wild landscape. It dramatically sweeps over the view from a mountain lookout. The green of the unkempt trees in the foreground is intensified and enlivened by the recent rain. The viewer’s eye is led outward over the unbreakable strength of the distant hills. During such an experience we lose the weakness and loneliness of individuality; we become part of the glorious landscape before us.
